Carbon Neutrality

Understanding the Impact of Carbon Emissions
Carbon emissions, mainly greenhouse gases are a major driver of global warming and climate change. Their effects are felt through rising temperatures, extreme weather, and disrupted ecosystems.
Reducing them is essential to help bring the negative impacts on people and the environment down to zero and what we call Achieving Zero.
Carbon Neutrality – A Necessity
Carbon neutrality means balancing the carbon we emit with the carbon we remove from the atmosphere, using natural or technological solutions. This process, known as carbon sequestration, captures and stores carbon dioxide to help offset emissions. Achieving net-zero requires that every ton of greenhouse gas released is counterbalanced by removing the same amount.
This balance is at the heart of our commitment to Beyond Zero, not only reducing environmental harm but also building a future that creates lasting value for people and the planet.

The Road to Carbon Neutrality
As a market leader, we aim to set a global example by offering a diverse lineup of electrified vehicles, including hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs).
HEVs represent the first step on this journey, helping to make cleaner mobility more accessible across the region. This is how we begin to Achieve Zero and continue Beyond Zero by transforming mobility into a force for environmental and societal progress.
Drive Home a Sustainable Future
Every choice we make behind the wheel shapes the future of our planet. By switching to hybrid vehicles, we take a crucial step toward lowering emissions and ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable world for generations ahead. Together, we can drive progress beyond zero and create lasting positive impact.
Your Questions, Answered
How can I as a person contribute to achieving the goal of carbon neutrality?
Achieving carbon neutrality is only possible if we as a nation take responsible steps towards this goal. Every individual needs to change their mindset and consumption habits to be more eco-friendly. We should be aware of the choices we make and their consequences. Let’s make sustainable choices and always aim for renewable energy consumption in all aspects of life.
How are HEV cars better in terms of carbon emissions?
HEV cars use an electric motor along with an internal combustion engine. This technology allows hybrid cars to use fuel more efficiently and produce lesser emissions compared to full petrol or diesel engine cars.
What role is Toyota playing in achieving carbon neutrality?
Toyota will continue to do its utmost to take on the challenge of achieving carbon neutrality. This includes making all manufacturing operations carbon neutral by 2035 and eliminating CO2 emissions from the use of energy at all facilities by 2050. To achieve this, Toyota will continue to introduce more hybrid cars, electric cars and even hydrogen powered cars. Toyota is also relooking at the whole production cycle to reduce emissions, from production to vehicle disposal
How is ALJM contributing to the goal of carbon neutrality?
ALJM is bringing Toyota hybrid and electric vehicles to the region, to make sustainable powertrains accessible and carbon neutrality achievable. This is line with ALJM’s commitment to the Saudi Green initiative and Vision 2030.
